In Kiss Cam, teen author Kiara London asks, what's a little harmless kissing between friends?
Juniper, Jasper, and Lenny have been friends forever and co-own a vlog channel called WereVloggingHere. Their fans are huge "shippers" who believe that Juniper and Jasper are perfect for each other, and, despite warnings from friends and family, a simple Truth-or-Dare inspired kiss soon spirals out of control into a whole new world of making out and surprise kisses.
Juniper and Jasper's relationship begins to shift. But as fan requests for different "Kiss Cam" segments keep pouring in, Juniper puts her worries aside and convinces herself that it doesn't mean anything. After all, it's just kissing... right?
In this adorably fun, fresh, and modern contemporary romance, a trio of vloggers push the boundaries of their friendship by giving in to fan requests for a "Kiss Cam" segment.

Gr 9 Up-June, Jasper, and Lenny are best friends who produce a popular vlog, "WereVloggingHere." They tackle the everyday antics of school (like Lenny trying to eat a disgusting concoction of cafeteria food) along with fun challenges and dares that spotlight their tight friendship. Their fans love to "ship" the three friends. "Jasiper" (Juniper and Jasper) is the most popular "ship" and inspires their newest vlog-"The Kiss Cam." Jasper and June conspire to unexpectedly kiss each other on camera. It begins innocently, with June and Jasper swearing that the kisses are meaningless. Of course, readers will notice right away in what direction this story line is headed. Soon, feelings are in the mix, and it's difficult for the teens to separate the stunt from their friendship. The narrative is entirely predictable, but London infuses the plot with funny dialogue and an energetic trio of pals. Jasper and Juniper's long-term friendship provides the perfect backdrop for their unintentional growing attraction. Lenny is a comedic accompaniment to the sometimes melodramatic moments in the "Jasiper" relationship. The novel's focus on a current format of youth media (vlogging) will engage many teens. VERDICT Lighthearted and all-around fun, this would be an entertaining addition for YA library collections.-Sarah Wethern, Douglas County Library, Alexandria, MN
